I am a Jupiter, Florida local and have lived in the booming town for over ten years. Currently enrolled at the University of Florida as a freshman, I have been preparing well ahead for my post-collegiate endeavors in the area of Computer Engineering.
My true and most important responsibilities begun during my seventh grade year at Independence Middle School. There I accepted the duty of becoming the webmaster for the school's web site. I was able to have full and complete control over its creation and production. With the help and guidance from Mr. Gary Sparks, athletic director and computer science teacher, I was able to further excel in the area.
He entrusted me with duties that essentially made me the de-facto technology coordinator until my graduation at the middle school.
I had daily responsibilities that dealt with the technological needs and wants of the teachers. I also oversaw and performed network administrator duties at the middle school.
As my educational career progressed, I felt the need to continue what I had started at the middle school level.
Jupiter Community Senior High School, also known short as Jupiter High School, was in need of hiring a new technology coordinator. Mr. Jackson Riche, a Haitian-American, began his duties during my sophomore year. Because he was new to the School District of Palm Beach County, I had the awesome responsibility of acclimating and acquainting him with the school's telecommunication and basic network layout.
Mr. Jackson Riche and I worked as a team fulfilling the requests and technological challenges that we faced daily. Presently, I have continued these endeavors and unique cooperative work experiences at the University of Florida.
Over the summer of 2008, I matriculated at the University of Florida during Summer B term. The adjustment from high school to college life was a transition much bigger than I had expected and as a result, I suffered a little during my first term.
Nonetheless, I have now been acclimated to the University of Florida and consider myself a full fledged Gator! Many of the skills I acquired throughout my secondary education has followed me to UF, where I continue my passion with computers and technology by working as a Computer Technician at the Office of the University Registrar.
